If you travel to Berlin and want to stock up on Instagram, here are 10 special places to take selfies!

If you love traveling and taking good pictures, Berlin is a city that won't disappoint you: rich in history, culture and events, extravagant, full of energy and always surprising...a weekend in Berlin will give you a thousand opportunities to take off your Instagram's likes! ;)

We have already seen in our travel magazine what to see in Berlin on a 4-day trip, but now we'll give you 10 special tips to make your perfect selfies in the German metropolis!

1. EAST SIDE GALLERY

East Side Gallery

Why start from the East Side Gallery? Because it's the symbol of the reunified Berlin and is also a record-setting location: it's in fact the longest open-air art gallery in the world (1.3 kilometers!). 106 murals made by international artists on the east side of the Berlin Wall. If you have to choose a particularly iconic mural, you should drfinitely take a picture of the kiss between Leonid Brežnev and Erich Honecker, or the classic Trabant car that breaks through the wall.

2. OBERBAUMBRÜCKE

Oberbaumbrücke

The Oberbaumbrücke is a charming 2-level bridge (with cars and pedestrians on the lower level, and the subway above) on the river Spree and it joins the districts of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg (once divided by the Wall). It is considered another important symbol of German reunification and is characterized by a very elegant North German Brick Gothic style.

3. REICHSTAG

Reichstag

The Reichstag Building is the current seat of the German Parliament and the original building dates back to 1894. During the Second World War it was heavily bombed and in 1992 it was rebuilt on a project by Norman Foster with the addition of the popoular large glass dome that can also be visited by tourists, on reservation. It's worth going at night to enjoy the 360-degree view of the illuminated city.

4. CURRYWURST MUSEUM

Currywurst Museum

We'll leave for a while the most classic locations and take you to the Currywurst Museum, a real museum dedicated to one of the most popular gastronomic specialties of Berlin, a true institution of Teutonic street food! Perfect for getting hungry and for taking a kitch-pop selfie! You can read more about it here.

5. TELEVISION TOWER

Tv Towers in Alexanderplatz

Here we are at Alexanderplatz, one of the most famous squares in Berlin. Here you can see the very high Television Tower (368 meters) that the Germans also call "TeleSpargel" (ironically recalling its asparagus-like shape). After taking a nice selfie at its base, take one of the ultra fast elevators and in under 40 seconds (about 6 meters per second) you will reach a 207 meters height: here there's a special observation point with a panoramic restaurant/bar...every 30 minutes it rotates 360 °!

6. LIQUIDROM

Liquidrom

The Liquidrom building is bizarre, perfect for a selfie that will amaze your friends. But it's inside that you can try an extraordinary experience: this spa is indeed one of a kind and has its heart in "the dome", a large pool with soft and colorful lighting and electronic music concerts and DJ sets to listen immersed into the water (the speakers are in fact placed inside the pool).

7. BRANDENBURG GATE

Brandenburg Gate

Maybe it could sound trivial, but if you go to Berlin you can not miss a selfie with the Brandenburg Gate behind you! I's an example of Neoclassical style known all over the world and the best time to photograph it is at dusk, when the light is really special and the illuminated door stands out with a majestic effect.

8. ONE OF THE BERLIN DESIGN HOSTELS

One 80° Hostel

Berlin is a trendy city, also when speaking about hostels. What you see above is the One 80° Hostel, one of the most beautiful and modern design hostels in Europe, but the city has so many beautiful hostels, you will be spoiled for choice. If you want to know more, you can read our article about the top 10 hostels in Berlin.

9. HAMBURGER BAHNHOF

Hamburger Bahnhof

This rich Contemporary Art museum was built inside a former railway station (one of the oldest in Germany). It has a great quality collection, including works of Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Anselm Kiefer and Joseph Beuys...ideal for a Pop-Art style selfie!

10. BADESCHIFF

Badeschiff swimming pool

Let's end this top 10 with a spectacular and unique attraction: the floating pools on the Spree river of Badeschiff. Take a swim in these pools with a view, in the heart of the city, it's a priceless experience and the location is just perfect for a selfie to show off your muscles! ;)

Now you know where to take your selfies...so you just have to organize your trip to Berlin, why not starting from here?!?
