Perfect Lisbon getaway to experience Eurovision Song Contest 2018

01/04/2018

Be sure to organize your lowcost weekend in Lisbon in time to fully enjoy Eurovision.

There are two things all of us love: good music and, of course, travelling! What better occassion to perfectly combine these two passions than to treat ourselves with an amazing Lisbon weekend during its Eurovision Song Contest 2018?

This year's 63rd edition will be held at the grand Altice Arena, a covered stadium (famous also as MEO Arena or Pavilhão Atlântico), and originally built as part of the world exibition EXPO back in 1998. The arena itself is one of the biggest ones in Europe and it can host up to 20 000 people, so there should be more than enough space for everybody looking to attend this magnificent and highly anticipated event. Tens of thousands of Eurovision fans from all parts of Europe (and not only) are expected to arrive to Lisbon, as this will, as always, surely be one of the biggest music events in Europe. The Eurovision tickets were first put on sale on November 30th 2017, however most of them have already been sold, so hurry up and get the last remaining tickets in case you also wish to personally witness this year's Eurovison extravaganza.

The competition will be going on from May 8th until May 12th, spread over three amazing music nights, two semifinal nights and the extraordinary finale night. This is actually the first time Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Portugal, all thanks to its last year's winner, Salvador Sobral and his unforgettable song "Amar pelos dois".

The 63rd Eurovision edition theme is called All Aboard! and, according to its organizers, it is said to be the most budget and eco-friendly edition of all times... definitely worth a trip to Lisbon in order to see what wonders organizers have in store for this year's competition. The city itself is simply spectacular, and while your evenings might be dedicated to listening to great music, during the day be sure to explore the city as much as possible, perhaps by following our tips on must see and must do list for Lisbon!
