A few things about Edina Horvath and her journeys!

1. When you booked your stay at the City Center Guesthouse Budapest, did you realize you were the two millionth guest of HostelsClub.com?

No I didn’t. I didn’t know we were even close to be the 2 millionth guests...

2. Please, tell us a few words about yourself. Who are you? What do you do?

I am Edina Horvath, I am a Pet groomer stylist. First of all God is the most important in my life. I love riding motorbikes, traveling, reading Christian books and listen to Christian songs...

3. How did you know about HostelsClub?

My friend who lived by then in the USA recommended it a few years ago.

4. Please, share with us how your stay at the City Center Guesthouse Budapest was. Why did you choose them in Budapest?

I had stayed before at City Center Guesthouse Budapest. I looked for a few hostels in Budapest and in Esztergom. We spent 6 days in Hungary and I wanted a nicer one for the last night. I saw the City Center Guesthouse on the website, the pictures and feedback was quite good to be chosen.

5. I see you are Hungarian, but live in the UK. What do you think about Hungary nowadays? Do you like Budapest, what is its true face? What are the advantages to go to Budapest?

Well... I used to live in Budapest. I left more than 4 years ago. Budapest is beautiful, but unfortunately the life is so hard there. The salaries are low and food, rent, transport are disproportionately high for it. But the dentist is cheaper than in the UK!

6. What are the places you have visited in Budapest and can be recommended?

We didn’t have too much time for sightseeing, but we visited the Hősök Tere, Opera, Parliament, Margit Híd. I really like Buda and Gellért hegy and walking on bridges or along the Duna River at night time.

7. What are your favourite places in the world you would like to return?

I have lots of them but New York City is my N1 city on the earth and Lake Tahoe (USA) is my favorite place and I enjoy visiting them any time. I wish I could settle down in N.Y.C.! I like spending time in California as well. San Francisco and Los Angeles are really nice. If someone has any chance to travel to the USA, rent a car and drive along the ocean, from San Francisco to San Diego… in a word: amazing!

8. During your adventures, what do you like to do the most? How do you like to spend your holidays?

I like Big cities and Mountains with lakes. I like sightseeing, hiking. I am usually very active when I travel. I like to discover new places, I don’t like spending time in hotels or on the beach and I don’t want go back to same place, except New York and Lake Tahoe.

9. Have you already planned your next holidays? Where are you going to go? What are your travel goals for 2014?

I am absolutely open for any new ideas and I usually have Plan "A", "B", "C", sometimes plan "D"... I really want to go to Rio De Janeiro in the near future and visit Santa Claus in Lapland region of Finland... or plan "C" swimming with dolphins.

10. Definitely, we can say that traveling is your passion. How did you discover it and fall in love with it?

Maybe it came from my childhood. We always moved. First I only used to move from one house to another and later I moved to other cities. I moved more than 45 times so… I think travelling and discovering new things are in my blood... I can't stop it! My friends told me I am travelling and moving like gypsies.

11. What are your travel inspirations? How do you plan your trips? And where do your ideas come from?

Sometimes I see pictures or videos about interesting cities or countries. After a movie I usually start to search on the internet how to get there, I try to find the perfect price for a flight and a cheap hostel. I make a search on the most popular places in that city or country and I make a plan on the map. I don’t like wasting time for it when I get there.

12. What are the things you are looking for during your journeys?

I like to feel the atmosphere of the places

The lucky 2000000th HostelsClub Customer13. Can you please tell us one episode from your travel stories which was serious, dangerous, but today, you have a lot of fun and a smile appears on your face?

I have never had dangerous trips. One unpleasant story happened 3 years ago during Christmas time on the 26 Dec. I wanted to come back to Europe from New York and on that day there was a big snowstorm. I remember that the 25th of December was a nice and dry day. I spent my last afternoon in Central Park. Nobody thought that the following day would be a terrible day. I didn’t speak English, just a few words and I didn’t understand what was happening around me! They closed the airport. No one could go in or out. I spent 4 days at the airport without having a shower. They cancelled lots of flights. Lots of people slept on the floor including me... They were upset and angry. I was ok. And I knew if I got angry nothing would have changed. I tried to figure out how I could get back to Europe and I think I was the last person who received the boarding pass... When I went to the desk they didn’t have any boarding pass for me in the economy class. I couldn't complain or do anything because I didn’t speak English. And then a miracle happened. They gave me a ticket for the business class. I didn’t get any shower for 4 days. I looked like a homeless and the stewardesses looked at me and couldn’t believe that I had a business class ticket. I felt so blessed that night.
