The old hansa town makes you drool for more

So here's the setting: you've enjoyed the endless summer nights with barbecues on the beach, with a few delicious cocktails at your favourite bars and you were always a mouth full of pizza and pasta on your last trip to Rome in July.

If you're also feeling like the button of your favourite jeans is about to pop off every time you sit down, don't continue reading this article. We are just about to explain you how to ruin your well begun diet - in Bremen, Germany!

Bremen market

The fascinating hanseatic city of Bremen in the northwestern Germany could be considered yet underestimated as a travel destination. If getting back to the basics, what could make it rather interesting and worth a visit is - say no more - a chocolate factory!

Hachez Chocolate was founded in Bremen by Joseph Emile Hachez in 1890, and still today the company is located on its routes in the heart of the city. All the way from the beginning it has been family-owned. Joseph managed to create a delicate recipe to manufacture high quality chocolates and chocolate specialities.

Chocolatier HACHEZ has been a recognised brand for long and nowadays it stands for premium chocolates which are still manufactured on basis of the original recipes. You can find the delicious masterpieces of HACHEZ from its own chocolates specialist shop in the Stoevesandt Diele at the Deutsches Haus, Am Markt 1.

Now, besides chocolate, Bremen is also the home for the world-famous Beck's beer. If you feel thirsty after all that chocolate eating, you may want to consider taking a tour around the Beck's factory, or a brewery. The tour provides lots of interesting information about the brewery, the art of brewing, and the Beck's and Haake-Beck brands. The tour takes you through the ingredients store, brewhouse, storage tanks and the museum, and is followed by beer tasting in the guest room.

Bremen city

So you got beer and chocolate - but what else is there to explore?

You might as well want to take a lil digestive walk around the picturesque old hansa town center - and while you're there, don't miss....

Böttcherstraße!

'Böttcher Street' is described as "the secret main street" of Bremen. It stands as a rather old, narrow and only 100-metre long street where wine barrels where made during the Middle Age. Today it is one of the major tourist attractions of Bremen.
