Natal is the capital of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte. Lying about six degrees south of the equator the sun shines on for more than 3,000 hours every year and the days seem to last forever. The average temperature in Natal is about 27 degrees Celsius. The city's main sights are Praia da Ponta Negra and nearby the Praia de Pipa and Jenipabu which are famous because of the mobile dunes, where experienced buggy drivers take tourists for a wild ride.
