One might hear bad stories about hostels in London: some say they are dirty, unsafe or simply ugly. Well, to dispel this myth we decided to visit them for you and show you what we found in these hostels video presentations.

You'll discover that London has plenty of really cool hostels, with well-kept interiors, hotel-like services, super lively bars and clean rooms. Join us while we introduce you top London hostels through 7 videos not to be missed!

1. THE DICTIONARY HOSTEL (Shoreditch area)

This hostel is located in East London, in one of the most hip and cool areas of London. Located in a former plywood factory and it has maintained a very original industrial touch. The staff is super hospitable and the bar on the ground floor is the very vibrant heart of the hostel: here you can chat with friends and guests from all over the world!

2. GENERATOR LONDON (Russell Square area)

Let's move into the dynamic West End where we find this huge hostel with minimal design and bright colors. The hostel bar is amazing, here you can party and socialize with guests until late at night. It's definitely one of the best value for money in the City!

3. REST UP HOSTEL (Southwark area)

This hostel is housed in an elegant Victorian-style building, but inside it's super modern with luxury amenities. All furnishings exude "britishness" with the "Union Jack" on curtains, cushions and walls.

4. PALMERS LODGES (Swiss Cottage area)

Another elegant Victorian building converted into a hostel, the Palmers Lodges in Swiss Cottage will conquer you for its well-kept interiors, its bright and impeccably clean rooms and, above all, for the comfort and security you will perceive as soon as you enter.

5. SAFESTAY LONDON (Elephant and Castle area)

Set in a beautiful 19th-century Georgian-style building, the Safestay hostel was once the home of the Labor Party! Now it is a safe, elegant, comfortable and funky environment, complete with a heated and illuminated garden for a relaxing break after a day walking around the City.

6. CLINK 78 (King's Cross area)

The position would be enough to understand that Clink78 is a special place, we are literally in central London. But the most special thing is the story behind this hostel: originally it was a palace of justice (where also the Clash band were judged!) with lots of prison cells, of course now revisited to become very original hostel dorms. The interiors are furnished in a colorful and eccentric style and the bar offers a rich calendar of events!

7. SAINT JAMES BACKPACKERS (Kensington/Chelsea area)

The last hostel of this gallery is located in one of the most beautiful and popular areas of London and it's been featured on the Telegraph for its very warm "family" management. As soon as you enter you will feel like you are part of a large family and you will love the social atmosphere of its common areas, such as the fully equipped kitchen, the private courtyard with garden, the lounge area with BBQ. The continental breakfast is free, with lots of eggs, bacon and beans! Every evening you can register at the reception to take part in the free dinner and theme nights!
