20 THINGS YOU MUST DO IN LISBON
• Catch Tram 28!! It goes up and down the hills and around the curves through much of the old city and St Jorge Castle area, it takes passengers on a scenic trip along the way
• Visit the inside of St Jorge Castle
• Make your way to “Alfama Typical Neighbourhood” and listen to a Fado Performance wile you drink a glass or Wine in “Bacalhau de Molho Fado House” • Get a panoramic view of Lisbon in “S. Pedro de Ancântara” view spot (catch “Glória Lift” to get there)
• Stop in Baixa Chiado and drink a Coffee in the esplanade of centenary “Brasileira Café”
• At “Praça do Comércio” take the Sightseeing Tour in a Tramcar or in a open top bus
• Take Sta Justa Lift and enjoy a panoramic view over the historical “Baixa” area (Downtown) and the River Tagus
• Visit the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, it houses one of the most valuable art collections, surrounded by beautiful gardens
• Visit the “Botanic Garden” and the “Cold Stove”
• Hang out in “Bairro Alto” (a typical neighbourhood) and visit the personalised traditional shops with the best national designers, don´t forget to pass in “Mercearia da Atalaia” an excellent gourmet shop!!
• Stop to have a Snack on the cheeses and sausages over a glass of wine at the Gourmet Bar “Bica-me”, also in “Bairro Alto”
• Make your way to the modern complex of Nation’s Park and visit one of the biggest Oceanariums of Europe, take a ride on the cable car and afford of a superb view over the city and the river
• Passing by “Belem” area, you can breathe the atmosphere of the period of Portuguese Discoveries by visiting “Jeronimos Monastery” and the “Coach Museum”
• In Belem, don’t forget to stop in the centenary pastry shop “Pastéis de Belem” and try their genuine delicacy
• Visit “Belem Tower” and catch the lift to the terrace of “Discoveries Monument” to enjoy a beautiful view of Belem riverside
• Catch the train at “Cais do Sodré” and go on a scenic trip along the seaside, passing “Belem” area, you will find charming beaches with a superb ocean view, filled with sunny terraces and beach bars
• Stop at “Estoril” and finally at “Cascais” (a fishing village that became a seaside resort and a high class tourist point, nowadays one the favourites night spots for young people)
• Relax and enjoy your day in the white sand of “Tamariz Beach” or go Surfing or Windsurfing in “Guincho Beach”
• Proceed in the direction of the mystical and romantic town of “Sintra”, classified as a cultural landscape of World status by UNESCO. You will not tire of visiting this natural paradise, whether on foot or in one of the horse-drawn carriages that you can hire in the main square
