#2 Charlotte Giulia: 'I let myself be inspired by anything that comes my way'

10/01/2018

The Sixth Power is the new weekly column dedicated to emerging or already established influencers. Each week there will be a new interview with an influencer, this week is dedicated to the story of Giulia Carlotta Semino.

From today, Hostelsclub's blog hosts a new column dedicated to influencers, entitled 'The Sixth Power'. We are going to hear what they have to say, listen to their stories and discover their way of life. Many people would love to be like them, and influencers are one of the latest and most coveted professions. Their following, in some cases, exceeds the influence of the Heads of State. The Californian Kourtney Kardashian with 67.3 million followers has more followers than the number of votes that led Donald Trump to the post of President of the United States of America in 2016. The Italian Chiara Ferragni, before getting 15 million followers on Instagram and a worldwide fame, was just a beautiful blonde girl. They're millionaires, but what exactly do they do? We'll find out, giving a voice to travel bloggers in particular. It is certain that their ability to influence is such that international brands rely on them by showering them with gold. Ten years ago, brands turned to televisions and newspapers, columns of modern media power. Now they rely on them. Television was called the fifth power, but is the sixth power influencers? From this question, the title of this column was born. There will be many good tips for those with attentive ears. On the other hand, it seems that it doesn't take much to become an influencer: a social profile, a little work and lots of imagination.

#2 Charlotte Giulia: 'I let myself be inspired by anything that comes my way'

This second episode of Sixth Power is dedicated to Charlotte Giulia, (real name Giulia Carlotta Semino), a young Italian influencer who tells her story in the light of the many interests that animate her. She works on social media and Instagram in particular, but interior design is the way she wants to go. Stories and attitudes of young women emerge from her photos, showing carefully chosen travels and scenarios, which seem to be almost outdated, sometimes with pre-Raphaelite colours and styles. Her shots show us the boundary between seduction and the pursuit of elegance, research of the context and particularities in the details. Nothing seems left to chance. Although she says, it is to chance that she owes much of her inspiration. As well as being a travel blogger, she also deals with fashion. What emerges, it seems, is a story of a life through images, a pleasant anachronism, often hovering in an atmosphere of the 60s in the poses, clothes and portraits, which make her narration particularly persuasive and perhaps more original than many others. It is for this reason that we have chosen her. "I have always been interested in beauty", she tells us, "and I try, therefore, to translate it into an expressive form." We're ready to find out how.

What do you want to convey through your story?

I try to convey my personality and my taste through my profile.

And how do you implement this purpose?

I have always been interested in beauty, so I try to translate it into an expressive form.

Does being yourself count?

I am convinced that when you publicly show an image of yourself, the most important thing is to be 100% you, authentic and without constructions, but at the same time the private sphere must be kept separate.

How are your photos created?

First of all, it takes a lot of effort and commitment. I let myself be inspired by anything that strikes me by always putting myself on the line, while always maintaining my authenticity.

How did you start?

The possibility of having a means of expression and communication that could express my creativity intrigued and stimulated me.

And has it become a job?

In the beginning, I didn't think it could become a job, but over time I understood the great potential of this medium.

Do you think this is the job of your future?

I think everything is constantly developing and changing, I would like to secure myself in this sector or, perhaps, that other opportunities arise from this profession.

Does insisting count?

I am very ambitious, I always try to have a positive approach and not to be discouraged when pursuing my goals.

Other interests?

One of these is interior design, an area in which I will specialize.

This section will be translated into the main languages among the 26 of our blog. If you are an influencer you want to tell us your story write to us, we will evaluate your proposal and perhaps the prosecution of The Sixth Power will talk about you!
