Movies that will inspire you to travel

Surely quarantine is making you miss travelling; discovering new places and immersing yourself in other cultures. That is why we have prepared this list for you, so you can take advantage of these days by 'travelling' from home with these 14 great travel movies.

No spoilers!

Into The Wild

Essential for every traveller: Break away from everything (literally), and dedicate yourself simply to living. On this trip you can enjoy the incredible landscapes of Alaska and reflect on the simple idea of finding yourself on a journey as wild as it is authentic.

Little Miss Sunshine

Little Miss Sunshine tells the story of a more than peculiar family who embark on a trip in a Volkswagen van to Western America. With a message where being yourself is more important than being a star, this fun, eccentric and profound film will not leave you unmarked.

Inspired by real events, Wild tells the story of a traveller who decides to travel almost 2000km on foot along the paths of the Pacific to forget her complicated past. An introspective journey that will inspire you.

The Beach

Leonardo DiCaprio plays a backpacker who decides to go to Thailand in search of emotions and new experiences. Featuring landscapes as incredible as the island of Phi Phi Leh, or the city of Bangkok itself!

Before Sunrise

Two strangers, a train, and one of the most beautiful cities in Europe: Vienna. Deep conversations about life, death, and humanity merge into this work of art that's too good to be ignored.

A Straight Story

An old man who travels 500km through the US on a lawnmower? Yes. In this cult film based on real events, it is possible.

Qué tan lejos

Two 20-year-old Ecuadorian girls decide to undertake a journey along the coast of Ecuador and the mountains, while trying to discover themselves. Definitely an amazing movie.

Lost in Translation

Two Americans meet in the incredible city of Tokyo, and a special friendship arises. Together they roam the city of neons that doesn't seem to understand them, and discover their inhabitants as well as themselves.

Green Book

We move to the 1960s in Southern USA. A driver and pianist embark on a trip where they must act in accordance to the "green book" - a guide to the few establishments that accept African-Americans. A film where racial differences are present in a journey with a great sense of humour.

The Holiday

Two girls bored of their lives meet over the internet and decide to swap houses over Christmas. From England to California and vice versa. An ideal romantic movie to disconnect with.

Motorcycle Diaries

An extraordinary journey of discovery that recreates the history of Che Guevara with his friend Alberto on a motorcycle tour of South America. An excellent adventure film covering the Spanish American continent.

The Tourist

The incredible Venice as a backdrop with two legendary actors (Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp) in a dangerous and intriguing adventure through this beautiful city, passing through its canals, squares, and palaces.

A 17-year-old boy decides to escape from the juvenile detention centre to go in search of a dog, Oveja, with whom he shares a very special bond. A moving, on-the-road film set in the north of Spain.

Eat Pray Love

Who wouldn't want to be Julia Roberts and stroll through the streets of Rome and Naples, passing through India and ending up in Bali? Well, in eat pray love, it is possible to visit these three unique countries, with a love story included!

We hope this list has convinced you to take advantage of your free time and travel from your sofa! Of course, if you have any other travelling movies you'd recommend then leave us a comment and we'll add them to our list!
