Where to travel in November

10/13/2015

Fancy heading to the sunny sights in the middle of the approaching winter?

We do for sure! It’s not because we have something personally against November (except Movember!), not at all. It’s not poor November’s fault it just happens to be one of the lousiest times of the year in the most of Europe – and mostly because of all the darkness and coldness, raining and sleeting. Summer seems like a memory far, far away and Christmas is still at the horizon.

Here are our tips for the best destinations to travel in November:

THAILAND

Chiang Mai

Cheer up and colour-up your gray November mood in Thailand! Discover for example Surin Elephant Festival in Chiang Mai, where the elephant Round-Up has been presented already for more than 50 years, including a breathtaking elephant parade and the famous “elephant breakfast”.

AUSTRALIA

Australia

Did you know the whale watching season is starting in Queensland right in November? If you’re into wildlife and nature, navigate your way to Down Under and see the marvelous creatures in their natural environment.

MOROCCO

Marrakech

Why not explore the exotic spice souks and sit down for a nice cup of traditional Moroccan mint tea? November is one of the best times of the year to visit Morocco, while the enormous summer heat is gone but you can still enjoy a warming sunshine. And did we mention the fascinating cultural and shopping city of Marrakech?

CHILE

Valparaiso

This relatively safe Latin American country starts to bloom for spring in November. You might not exactly need your beach gear yet on the white sandy beaches of the rustic city of Valparaiso, but instead there’s plenty more to explore in this narrow and impeccably long country. How about spotting teeny weeny penguins or Southern sea lions in Valdivia?

ITALY

Rome

Alright, this one is in Europe, but temperatures in the southern parts of Italy are still often pretty bearable. And personally we believe there’s always a right time to travel to Italy at any time of the year! Grab a gelato at Gelateria San Crispino and flip a coin to Fontana di Trevi in Rome – and be aware to return to the Eternal City one day again.
