Tips from a local travel blogger where to eat on a budget in Venice - and where to rest your head low cost!

We've been told Venice is expensive, that you have to pay 5 euros for an espresso. However, nearly all the most popular cities among tourists are like this, so you just need to know where to go, that's the trick. And what would be better than a local expert to give us the best tips where to eat on a budget in Venice? We asked Liz, a true Venetian blogger at Travelling with Liz, to tell us where she goes to eat out, to prove that Venice is not that expensive.

In a city like Venice, there are plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars for sure; probably more than the local number of inhabitants! Furthermore, every year this city is bound to host around 20 millions of tourists. Most of the dining places provide a tourist menu and even if it's a really low cost one, probably you can't be sure about the quality.

Eating and sleeping on a budget is definitely possible in Venice , you just need to read our #LocalTipsHC and you won't have to exclude this amazing city from your bucket list because it was out of your budget!
