All our ideas on how to celebrate NYE in Paris 2019
We've already told you what you can do in Paris during Christmas, but what about New Year's Eve? It's now time to plan for your NYE 2019 in Paris!
As with Christmas, Paris offers 1001 things for you to do during the New Year period, so we are sure that you will find something you enjoy! We've made a list of the best places to spend an unforgettable evening on the 31st of this year in Paris. Are you ready?
It's actually pretty common to ring in the new year at home with friends in France, but many people do choose to go out, especially in the capital. Many clubs and bars organise themed parties, and others take place in magical locations.
Party the night away on a boat
Known by the Parisians as the 'bateaux-mouches', the boats such as the 'Nix Nox' organizes party evenings from €39. Here you can enjoy a glass of bubbly while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Seine. Pay a little more and you can enjoy more drinks and an all-you-can-eat-buffet.
Attend a Masked Ball
Feel like you're at the Venetian Carnival at a masked ball party. Held at the luxury hotel Pavillion Wagram, you can enjoy the 3 drinks and some bubbly for €49.
Take a dip into the New Year - literally!
How about going to a waterpark on New Year's Eve? The Aquaboulevard will open its doors for you from €55, and 3 drinks are included! And yes, you can swim right up to the stroke of midnight if you wish!
Spend the night in an Aquarium
If you're not a fan of being directly in the water, but want to dance surrounded by sharks, thousands of exotic fish, rays and more at the foot of the Eiffel tower, then look no further than Club Aquarium. For €49 you are granted entry to the Aquarium, 3 drinks and a champagne bar, and there are even pastries available later in the night! What else do you need?
A little useful information to help you enjoy the night:
- Public transport will run all night and will be free between 5 pm on the 31st until 12 pm the next day. You can find more information on the RATP site.
- Most restaurants and bars have a dress code, so make sure you are dressed up just a little (no tuxedo, but go for it if you want!), so leave the baggy jeans and trainers at home just for this night!
So, the night's over, and we're sure that some of you may have a bit of hangover! Why not go for brunch, so you can recover from the night before, and make your resolutions for the year ahead? The Chalet du Lac, located next to the Bois de Vincennes offers various brunch buffets for €35 (a little pricey for some, but by far the cheapest we have seen in Paris for the 1st of January). Add €5 for a glass of champagne, if you haven't had enough already! The best part is that it runs from 11.30 - 15.00, so you can sure to sleep a little before you go!
For those who are willing to embrace the cold, or simply a little less hungover, the La Villette fair with over 60 attractions is waiting for you. The city of Paris also organises a parade on the Champs Elysées between 2-4 pm, where you can watch colourful floats go by and performers from some of the largest circuses around, such as 'Albert And Friends Instant Circus" and the "Cirque Phénix'.
For those who wish to stay in the warm, we can suggest going to the cinema, museums (see the full list here), or simply relaxing in one of our Parisian hostel lounges. Want to know what we have available? Check the form below!
