A different way of visiting Barcelona, through its hidden treasures

You may have been to Barcelona several times because of the easy flights and the wild nightlife. But once you've seen the usual tourist sites such as La Rambla and the works of Gaudi you might want to discover the hidden Barcelona.

If you're ready to be see some of the hidden treasures of Barcelona, then let's get to it.

1. COLUMNS OF THE TEMPLE OF AUGUSTUS

Temple August, a beauty of the past

When you're looking at the amazing architecture in the Gothic Quarter, keeping going and search out the Calle de Paradís, it's not far from the Barcelona Cathedral. Enter the small courtyard and you will find yourself in front of the columns of the Temple of Augustus. At 9 meters high and more than 2000 years old, which is as old as Barcelona, they are a must see. MUHBA, the Museum of History of Barcelona, ensures its preservation for future generations to witness the magnificence of the past.

2. ANTI-AIRCRAFT REFUGES

A very special and hidden Bunker in Barcellona

You may have heard of Churchill's bunker in London but you don't have to go there to see a bomb shelter. Refuge 307 is a bomb shelter in Barcelona which has been kept as it was during the war. Although some shelters have been converted into parking areas, and others destroyed to make way for the metro. Refuge 307 was discovered in 1995 and the city decided to keep it as a tourist attraction.

THE LIBERTY STATUE

If you think you have to travel to New York City to see the Statue of Liberty, think again. You can see the iconic lady standing proudly in the Arús Library on Paseo San Juan #26. A scaled down version of the statue atop a pedestal greets visitors to this historic library.

3. PARC DEL LABERINT D'HORTA

Barcelona Labyrinth you have to visit

If you really want to lose yourself in Barcelona head just behind the Cathedral. There you'll be 'amazed' to find a natural labyrinth or a garden maze. Parc del Laberint d'Horta is the oldest in the city and is a beautiful example of a neoclassical garden. As you stroll through the maze you'll be treading where kings and queens and society’s elite have walked. At the centre of the maze you'll discover a statue of Eros.
