Let's follow the Chinese spring to experience the varied natural scenery

Finally, we’re in March now, it’s time to say hi to the spring, the season when everything comes back to life after the harsh winter. It's the right time for you to see the nature in its prime, and organize a spring trip. Perhaps the city where you live is still chilly, and you don’t want to quite leave the radiator's side yet! Don't know where to go? Today we’re gonna show you a wonderful destination for spring travel — China. As you know, China is a vast oriental country, and in some southern cities it is already spring. Follow our spring travel guide in China and find some inspiration for your next trip.

In Chinese there is a term to describe the start of spring, which is called Lichun - this is from traditional East Asian lunisolar calendars, which divide a year into 24 solar terms. Lichun is the 1st solar term. In the Gregorian calendar, it usually begins around February 4 and ends around February 18. Try to stop just eating spring traditional food, such like spring roll. Following our travel guide then you will feel a wonderful spring vibe.

1. YUNNAN

Yunnan is a province which is located in Southwest China, and it borders the Chinese provinces Guangxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, and the Tibet Autonomous Region, as well as the countries Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar. Thank for its vast area spanning approximately 394,000 square kilometres, you always can find such various and amazing scenery in this province. The capital of Yunnan is Kunming, is also called “Spring city” due to its weather, but today we’re gonna show you the other beautiful cities: Dali and Lijiang

2. DALI

As you know in China has a quick pace of life - if you ask us which is one of the best ways to escape from this busy city we suggest you: “exile” yourself to Dali, rent a bicycle around the Erhai lake, explore this region; visit Dali Old Town to experience the historical and cultural heritage about the Bai kingdom Nanzhao (8th and 9th centuries) and the Kingdom of Dali (937-1253) ; taste a cup of tea with locals in Shuanglang Town and try to get to know the local life of Bai minorities; when night falls you can join in with the vibrant nightlife.

3. LIJIANG

As a northwest city of Yunnan province, the Old Town of Lijiang which is UNESCO Heritage Site attracts countless tourists every year. This area also has lots of ethnic groups, but apart from the cultural and historical part, you can also visit the The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the mountain that is part of Yulong Snow Mountain National Scenic Area and National Geological Park, an AAAAA-classified scenic area. If you don’t have energy then you can also take a tourist cable car that elevates to 4,680 m for close views of the snow peak (but it has been criticized for accelerating the melting of the snow and reducing the water retention by the mountain). For the Naxi people here, the Yulong Snow Mountain is a sacred mountain, and their history starts from here, so don’t forget to follow their ritual rules besides enjoy this magnificent landscape.
