A Tour Through Berlin Coolest Bars

The capital city of Germany is unique. But tourists are coming to Berlin not only to enjoy its rich history, monumental architecture and shopping possibilities; they love to enjoy its truly legendary bar culture. Go to Berlin, soak up the street-art scene in galleries, go shopping in one of the shops of independent brands or in the street markets, enjoy graffiti art in hostels and spend the evening in one of the best bars in town.

Bar 1000 is a legend in Berlin, located under the S-Bahn tracks on the Schiffbauerdamm. It is not easy to find, bud behind the solid door you will find a modern oasis with a metallic decor and glass sculptures, dark design and special lighting. It is a luxury hot spot in Berlin where you can dance to jazzy sounds and enjoy delicious finger food. This place attracts many artists, film-makers, models and is the IN-place in Berlin's scene, so “for your own pleasure, come in style!”

The Hotel is a trendy little place in Kreuzberg where you will feel really confortable: this place is just perfect. It has 3 small rooms with unplastered walls, a black piano and fresh flowers. Thanks to the flowers and candles, even in the bathroom, it makes you feel like you are somewhere else, not in Germany. The staff and beer in the bar are both Spanish and the bohemian atmosphere is loved by real “Berliner”.

The bar Neues Ufer, known as the Anderes Ufer until 2003, is one of oldest gay cafés in Europe, established in the 70s. It was the first gay bar without dark draped windows and with the relaxing atmosphere of a traditional café, where everybody is welcome. The bar became legendary because it was frequented by David Bowie and Iggy Pop. It was their favorite place for a late breakfast or for a glass of whiskey with friends.

„Süß war Gestern“ meana „Sweet was yesterday” and it is a nice bar with a retro look. Thanks to its unique personality, it's perfect for everybody who loves the real Berlin style. When you want to spend a few hours in good company and enjoy good music, this is the right pace to go. You can even dance on the small dance flour. Beer costs about 2,5€ and cocktails are delicious.

The bar “Mein Haus am See” is very well known in Berlin and is just a perfect place for business meetings and lunch, but in Berin's style, with free WiFi. It has not only cozy sofas, work tables, drinks and food, but also many books (the bar was once as book shop). This quiet place by day becomex a party place with dancing floor and great atmosphere by night.

Café Luzia (Oranienstraße 34, Kreuzberg)

Café Luzia is located in Kreuzberg, and it is always a good place to have a drink and chat with your friends before partying, since there is always something going on. The atmosphere is finalized with some retro-style-furniture, torn velvet chairs and a romantic, nostalgic touch thanks to the many candles and and weird baroque accent. The bar is frequented by many locals and is a good place for a good time in the upstairs lounge.

Prenzlauer Berg is trendy and funky, but in Wisbyer Strasse you will find a small and cozy, very special bar. First of all it doesn't look as a bar: coming in you will think you are in a living room in one of Berlin's typical student apartments or grandfather houses from Eastern Germany. With special paintings, retro objects and furniture, it makes you feel at home there. There are great choice of cheap beer and alternative soft drinks, cozy sofas to relax and even a „kicker“- table-soccer!

Neukölln in Berlin is already called the „New Kreuzberg“ and there are many cosy bars, like Fuchs und Elster, perfect for a relaxing and sociable atmosphere. It is the perfect place for a cake and a coffee in the afternoon, and for beer or wine in the evening. On Friday and Saturday the young crowd goes wild with sounds of Balkan music.

The Belushi’s bar is not only for backpackers staying in the St. Christophers Inn Hostel, where by the way you can spend a night in a dorm for only 12 € or book a private room for 50 euro a night. The hostel is know worldwide thanks to its great location, for services such as free breakfast and wifi and its Belushi’s bar. Here you will enjoy true backpacker's atmosphere, listen to live musicand enjoy some cheap beers and shots.

This extraordinary bar is situated a the train wagon from the 20s, lovingly restored with cozy pillows and curtains, with gold colors and many candles. The best is also the seat heater under the wooden benches, which makes it just cozy and warm in winter. In summer there is a large outdoor area, in lounge style with black and red sofas.
