Surely you've heard about the famous Ramblas, but do you know exactly what they hide?
If after a hard choice you have decided on Barcelona, here we bring you an article that will be of great help to you during your trip.
Even if you have never set foot in "La Ciudad Condal", you've probably heard of the famous Ramblas. But what do you really know about them? For you to be well informed, nothing better than knowing exactly what Las Ramblas of Barcelona hide.
This emblematic walk connects the Plaza de Cataluña - the neurological center - with the old port, and is full of people 24/7. Press and flower kiosks, street performers, coffee shops, restaurants and shops are responsible for giving life to its 5 areas (Las Ramblas de Camaletes, Las Ramblas de los Estudios, Las Ramblas de las Flores, Las Ramblas de los Capuchinos and Las Ramblas de Santa Monica).

Although everyone knows it as La Boquería, in reality this popular municipal market is called Mercado de San José. Here you can find all kinds of fresh products, and more! Otherwise it is also a tourist attraction.
It has more than 300 stalls, spread over its 2583 m2, making it the largest market in the whole Catalonia, in addition to the most varied and visited!

The Gran Teatro del Liceo is the oldest and most prestigious active theater in the city, famous for its magnificent operas. It is considered one of the most important in the world and believe us when we tell you that it is not for less! It has served as a background to prestigious works, performed by the best singers.
A symbol of art that for two centuries has been a meeting point for the power, the nobility and the bourgeoisie of Catalonia.
3. The Palace of the Virreina

It is an urban palace that is one of the best exponents of civil architecture in Catalonia. This Baroque building -both the rooms and its patio- is the headquarter of the cultural area of the Barcelona City Council.
The perfect place to host a variety of temporary art exhibitions. Inside you will enjoy the Gegants de la Ciutat and the Àliga de Barcelona permanently.
4. The Royal Square

This public square has a peculiar shape: trapezoidal, and the architect Daniel Molina was in charge of giving it life. Located in the Gothic quarter of Barcelona, it occupies the place where the Capuchin convent of Santa Madrona once stood.
When you visit it, do not forget to look for two particularly interesting elements: the lampposts of Antonio Gaudí and the Fountain of the Three Graces of Antoine Durenne.
