About Zenji Hotel
Zenji Hotel is owned by a Zanzibarian-Dutch couple that integrates the best of both cultures, with traditional Zanzibarian details but with Western comfort. On walking distance from the harbour Zenji offers the perfect place to explore all the highlights StoneTown has to offer. Our team will do their very best to make you feel home.
We believe that tourism can help fighting poverty. That's why we involve local community where ever possible: the furniture and handicrafts in the rooms are created by Zanzibarian craftsmen. The fruits and vegetables are bought at local markets and homemade by our chef.

Room types
Zenji Hotel has 9 rooms. Every room has a different atmosphere referring to the rich Zanzibar heritage and culture but all with Western comfort. Each room has a ceiling fan and air conditioning. Depending on your taste and choice you can choose between a more spacious ensuite room (2), a double room ensuite (4), a room with shared bathroom (2) or a room with a private bathroom on the corridor (1).
Location and surroundings
Zenji Hotel is based in a nice location of StoneTown. You can reach by feet all highlights that StoneTown offers, with only a 8 minutes walk to the famous Forodhani Gardens with the not to be missed food night market and 5 minutes walk from the ferry.
Zanzibar offers a range of interesting activities. Depending on your choice and interests we have selected a few not to be missed tours and activities in and around Stone Town.
Services and facilities
The Roof Top Cafe offers a nice view over Stone Town and the harbour, especially during sunset. Here you can relax, read a book, play a game or keep in touch with friends and family using our free wireless internet facility. Breakfast is served at the rooftop.
Underneath the hotel we have a cafe & boutique where you can sit and sip on a cappuccino and try one of our famous homemade brownies, while watching city life pass by. Or shop a nice handmade souvenir to take home.
