San Filippo Neri is the only HI Hostel in Modena, we offer a quiet, safe stay in the fascinating historical center of Modena. The main square, Piazza Grande, is only minutes away by foot.
In our hostel you can obtain accommodation in twin or three-bedded rooms, with separate bathrooms on the floors, for men and women. Twin, three and four-bedded family rooms have separate reserved bathrooms. We provide also a locker with a key for each bed.We provide bed-sheets and blankets. There are also two rooms and bathroom for disabled people.
Location and surroundings
Within a few minutes'walk, it is possible to reach Piazza Grande where are located the Ghirlandina tower and the cathedral that together with the square, are considered a human patrimony form the UNESCO. From Modena you can go to visit beautiful art cities as Bologna (40 km), Parma (55 km) or Reggio Emilia (25 km).
In our hostel you can find a new Bar and a shared kitchen for prepare your own meal; and vending machines for cold and hot drinks. Free Wi-Fi and coin up washing/drying machines are at guests' disposal, too. We have safe-deposit boxes for small objects and a free luggage room for the departure and the arrival of guests.
A good clean place where to sleep. Very close to the center and to the railway station. You can return as late as you want, but during the day you have to leave the hostel between 10 and 14.00 due to cleaning. Last thing: beware of the shower- it has a strange mecanism and cold water.
the shower was strange, you have to keep pushing the button or you cannot have enough water. It was stressful. And some bathrooms were dirty. But I think it was not a hostel's fault, but the user's. Other things were ok. The room was large and clean.
It was far too hot at night and I could not sleep either night. I don't like having to leave for 4 hours per day.
