It's good place to know new people, good place, close to hongdea area with all restos and bars and cafes even across the street there are good restaurants, cafes and convenient stores, 5min. walk to metro station. good for backpackers

Out of the three similar guesthouses I've stayed in Seoul, Mr Kim's is the best of those. It's quite clean, well run, relaxed. Although the last could be worrying, as people come and go on a whim, at all times of day and night. Security is non-existent, but guests are generally okay with this and get along. Big problem though with mosquitos in September/October. Bring your spray etc because the window screens don't work - holes in them. Don't be put off too much. It's okay value.

Mr Kims is good. I met some cool people there and had an epic night out. The place is a short walk to all the clubs. Its a nice, very communal place and Mr Kim hangs out with everyone. I'd recommend staying there. The only thing I would note is that the private rooms are in a different building about a 10 minnute walk away, but hey you get to hang out at that building AND Mr Kims, so you've kind of got the best of both worlds! Also, the directions to Mr Kims is Wrong! (unless he's just changed it). I got lost for a good 45 mins trying to find the place, but Mr Kim is a nice guy so you cant be mad at him! To save you my troubles, here are the directions: If you take the subway, get off at the Hongik University station, just after Digital Media stop. There's only one train out of the airport so you cant get lost. I didn't time it, but its probably a good 45 mins or so. Its a pretty massive station at the university, but keep following the exit signs and take the exit 1. Its a bit of a walk. The directions on the web is the same up to here - this bit is right, but for the rest, follow me! As you walk up the stairs in Exit 1, you will find yourself on a street. Keep walking the same direction as the stairs and you will soon come to a big intersection. You will see the TGI Fridays restuarant on your left, on the other side of the street. DONT GO THERE though! Instead of walking left across the street, turn RIGHT. You should see not far down the road a Family Mart on the other side of the street, on the corner with another small street. Walk across to that and follow the road its on. You should see the 7 Eleven and the MODS hair Paris shop. Mr Kims is behind that. Enjoy!
