About Allegretto Bed and Breakfast
Most visitors to Valparaiso end up spending their evenings in Cerro Alegre. Staying in one of the many hostels and hotels in the area to avoid a long trip home, therefore makes the most sense. The choice is generally between a high class hotel offering a five star service or a hostel targeting backpackers and offering shared rooms. Allegretto has a selection of double rooms with ensuite
bathrooms, single rooms, family rooms and shared rooms
with bunk beds. The deluxe rooms still have the houses’
original cast iron bathtubs and there are also rooms with
terraces and one with a huge antique, king-sized bed.
Location and surroundings
Allegretto is the heart of the Cerro Alegre area of the city, the residential district where the wealthy Europeans who built the city lived in the 19th century. They built their houses in opulent style and Allegretto is among those that has ceilings four metres high. Today Cerro Alegre is the area of the city most popular with visitors for the high quality of its bars and restuarants, its pretty streets and the views it offers over the bay.
