Great location - just in the center of Budapest. Close to metro station. Breakfasts as for extra 4.5 euro are quite poor. English speaking staff. Rooms are clean and cosy.

Zuglo Hostel is not a bad place. But if you choose it, you should take into account some disadvantages and, hm... specific Hungarian(?) conditions. So, below I show good and bad points of this hostel. good points: 1. Quiet nights, beautiful and green surroundings. Far from and at the same time close to the noisy center - for me such place for holidays in a big city is the best. 2. If you have your own car, you can take in about 20 minutes to a center of Budapest. If no, your travel to the center takes about 50 min. - 1 hr. 3. Acceptable price. 4. If you need internet, in Zuglo Hostel it works really fine! No problems, high w-fi connection speed. 5. About 3 kilometers from cheap shopping places (Tesco, Lidl), where you don't need to using terrible Hungarian language. bad points: 1.The man in a hostel DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH! Before arrival I got some e-mails written in English, but in a hostel they expected me to speak Hungarian. I know some Hungarian words (jo napot kivanok, tesek, kosonom, elemiszer, nagy, kicsi, cipo aruhaz ;) etc.), but not very much more. So for me impossibility to communicate with staff in a hostel was a real problem. 2. Prices, you see in a hostelsclub system, are not final. In a property you have to pay additionally: 21% VAT (IFA) + 1,5 euro/person city tax + optional 3,5 euro for every night of car parking. And finally you get a calculation, but written only in Hungarian. Of course you can try to clear something, but then you have to know hungarian language ;). So get luck! Additionally, they accept only euro and prices are depend of an euro to forint actual exchange rate. 3. Zuglo is beautiful green an quiet place, but if you like a night life, you have to know that time about 11 pm is a "deadline" to Budapest city communication. If you have a car, it's a good idea to not use a trolleybus 77 from a Mogyorodi utca to Puskas Ferenc Stadion metro station, but to get to a Tesco parking by a car, and then go to a Pillango Utca metro station on foot (last train from a center of Budapest towards Ost Vezer Tere station starts at about 11:45 pm) 4. Kitchen in a Zuglo Hostel is not "fully equipped". There is one big refrigerator (common for all guests, so last night somebody eat my whole butter - grrrrr!), microwave oven, gas kitchen and washing machine. But, at the other side, this kitchen leaks of some simply and useful equipment. For example there is no kettle, no teaspoons and only few larger plates. 5. We booked a small room for two persons, with a double bad and shared bathroom. Our room was quite nice, but bathroom is rather a terrible place. Clean, but only one meter wide and about three meters long, with wash-hand- basin placed only a little above my knees. And with a bath-tub less than 1 meter long! For me (a man 1,82 meter high) bathing there was a hardcore. Why there is no shower, instead this terrible micro-tub for genies??? Summary: Will I come back to this hostel? Hm.... maybe.
