To the Viazul bus station it is a little bit over 1 km (it is the same as national station). You can handle from Matanzas your trips to Havana and Varadero. Be careful if you take a taxi, the range of the price is very flexible. Matanzas has only some lively streets in the center, Medio and Milanese, they are about 1,5 - 2,0 km from this casa particular. I felt safe in this place. There are few cheats in the city, in Havana there are so many. The cheats are walking at the end of the main streets near the theatro.
