We stayed 2 nights at the casa from Marlen and Deniz. They are two very friendly persons and we had a great time there. The room has a small balcony, the bathroom everything you need and the bed was good, too. Every morning we had a very good breakfast with fresh juice, fruits and everything we wish. The communication could be better, because the hosts speak more spanish than english and we could not speak spanish. But if you are able to speak spanish you had two very good guides for havanna with a lot of conatcts which will help you for your trip through cuba!

Das Hostal Plaza Vieja war ein Volltreffer! Typische Casa Particular in einem "vornehmen" Haus, direkt im Zentrum der Altstadt mit Blick vom Balkon des Frühstücksraums auf die Plaza (mit dem quirliegen kubanischen Leben, vor allem abends). Ganz liebenswürdige Betreuung durch Daniel und Maria. Zimmer und Bad sehr ordentlich und sauber, üblicher Standard, Frühstück preiswert. Würden immer wieder diese Unterkunft buchen!

Stayed there from the 16th of December 2014 till 22nd of Dec and also from first of Jan 2015 till 4th of Jan. Lester, the only guy you will meet of the hostel staff, picked me up right of the taxi I took from the airport. He introduced himself, showed the rooms and was a nice guide through my whole stay in Cuba! He recommended other hostels on my journey (took a car and drove to Santiago de Cuba and back to Habana), told me about places to go, mentioned some restaurants and helped with some gifts as well! We went to several clubs and I won't forget my stay in habana! The hostel itself is of course not a fancy hotel, but you'll meet lots of nice people around and its clean and quiet (if no one's snoring ;)). For that kind of money? 5/5! 10/10!

A very good accommodation. The English and Spanish speaking owners are friendly and help us to learn Spanish. Every morning we get a typical cuban breakfast. Thanks a lot for the nice stay. Every time again.

It was really the best decision to choose Havana Backpackers. At first I have to say the staff was really nice. Every day we took our breakfast there which was really good and even cheap. The owner was a really nice Person who also made some dinner for us if we asked for. I really recommend to try the lobster. Alejandro is a guy who is also working there. He is about 23 years old and it was a pleasure to meet him. He showed us the whole city from his view which was really exciting because so we saw the real cuban life. We also go out with him in some bars and clubs you can only find with a local. The location of the hostel is not directly in the centre of Havana but taxis are very cheap and in 7 minutes you can arrive at the capitol. The rooms are clean and there are two bathrooms. I really would recommend my friends to stay there if they go to Havana. I will go back to Havana soon and of course would take my room there.

Ihr sucht ein klassisches Hostel, wo ihr neue Leute kennenlernt, von euren Gastgebern umsorgt und herzlich empfangen werdet? Dann seid ihr hier richtig. Die kleine Familie und ihr Angestellter sind super Tourguides und geben euch die besten Tipps, was die ganze Insel betrifft. Sie sind super organisiert und das Zimmer ist, wenn auch nicht besonders komfortabel ausgestattet, sehr sauber! Die Lage ist tatsächlich nicht so gut (ganz im Süden Havannas, in Cerro), doch mit dem richtigen Taxi collectivo, ist man in 10min für 10 Pesos (nacionales) am Kapitol! Bei jeglichen Fragen und Problemen könnt ihr euch an die Gastgeber wenden und die Balkontür steht einem jederzeit auch nur zum Fernsehgucken offen. Jederzeit wieder! Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt

My friend and I stayed with the family for one week and ever getting back to Habana, we would want to stay with them again. Our room was large, with space for a maximum of three people, kirchen facilities and an own bathroom, the space was clean. Our hosts were great, we learned a lot of them abour what life in Cuba is like, they shared their stories and their food with us and helped us with all concerns, we felt like being at home. Thank you very much for that time at your house!
