Next morning I asked one of them: "What are you?"
One of them responded: "Gondola - from Italian (Venetian dialect), from Medieval Latin gondula, perhaps ultimately from Greek kondu drinking vessel"
Enough said-nuff said-take your pick-I stopped asking.
