Stayed at Casa Maylu Feb 9th, 2016. Awesome location in the Plaza. View of the Plaza from the apt. is obscured by the blue coffee shop awning. $150 CA sounds expensive but its cheaper than a nice hotel room back in Kelowna and you get a 2 bedroom apt with kitchen and big living room. Just my wife and I stayed there but we were travelling with 2 other couples. We went back to the apt. to drink and relax lots of room for 6 people. BRING EARPLUGS Plaza is very noisy. Would stay there again and highly recommend it GREAT LOCATION lots of restaurants in Plaza Vieja

Casa Maylu is the PERFECT spot from where to explore Havana and all it has to offer. It is situated at (in my opinion) the best square in Havana (better that Parc Central) and the house is neat, reception waas great and if you have any issues you are helped straight away.
Casa Maylu is very beautiful and the host Luis is really nice and attentive.
The problem with the Casa is the location at Plaza Vieja since it is really, really noisy there throughout the morning, day and even at night. Unfortunately the Casa has no proper windows so the noise level is extreme. We had sleepless nights and exhausting mornings as there is a building site right next to the Casa - jackhammer started at about 9.30/10 am.
Also I would not recommend to stay at this Casa with 4 people since the beds are really small. Its more like a larger single bed.
Altogether its not really worth the money, and I would definitely try and stay in a more quiet street next time.
Location of this apartment is right in a plaza, but the noise at night is makes it impossible to sleep. 2 nights we were up till 4am until the 3rd night the helpful staff member moved us to another apartment. This apartment was a lot quieter but with little to no water. Overall pretty good but for the cost per night you need to have water at least. The staff members luis and ezmale were amazing. thanks guys. James
