The beach near Batumi in Ureki is composed of “Black Magnetic” sand, high in iron oxide, and is famous for it’s theraputic qualities. The swimming area is very shallow with sandy bottom, and is perfect for kids. The salinity of the water is mild, approximately half that of the Mediterranian, thanks to many rivers that empty into the sea from the Kolheti Valley in and around Ureki. This area is radically different from most of the rugged rocky Black Sea coast that you’ll find anywhere else.

We are conveniently located just 0.8km off main Batumi-Tbilisi highway, 15km north of Kobuleti, and 1km south of Ureki. Look for the sign “Kaprovani” on the highway, or use this GPS link location: BeachCamp

Batumi and Ureki enjoy mild subtropical climate, very comfortable in May through October, with daytime temperatures ranging in 20-35*C. Peak turist season is in late July – August, with daytime temperatures around 25-35*C. Hot humid days are supplemented by a cool pleasant sea breeze at night, which makes sleeping accommodations very comfortable. The Batumi Ureki climate will compare closely to that of the French Riviera.
