"This little potato shop claims to have the hottest tattie (that’s potato in Scottish) in town and they sure do! The Baked Potato Shop is open from early morning to late evening so it’s an excellent option for lunch, light dinner or a little late night snack. Prices are budget traveller friendly and they have a large selection of vegan yummies too."

The Chocolate Tree (123 Bruntsfield Place)

"Every traveller needs a little treat sometimes, right? There is no better place to satisfy your sweet tooth than at the Chocolate Tree. An overwhelmingly large menu of hot chocolate is complemented by artisan chocolates, delicious cakes and on summer time also Italian style gelato and sorbet. This little cafe is often full so be prepared to wait around a while – I guarantee it will be worth the wait! They also cater for special diets, including vegan."
