Room types
In our typical Berlin building we offer a cheap and individually styled accommodation with numerous completely free amenities. We offer single rooms, twins, double-rooms and triples (one bunk-, one single-bed) as well as four-, six- and eight bed dormitories (all with bunk beds). Our six-bed dorm has an ensuite bathroom, all other rooms share the bathroom with just one other room of the same type.
Location and surroundings
The Alcatraz Backpacker Hostel Berlin is centrally located in the middle of Berlin's trendy district of Prenzlauer Berg. Not far away from our Backpacker Hostel the Berlin Wall was located, dividing the city into East- and West-Berlin. The popular “Mauerpark” (with its great flea-market on Sundays!) is a reminiscent of this period of history. Today, life pulsates in Prenzlauer Berg and residents and tourists mingle in this district.

Among other things, you have a kitchen for communal use, lockable cabinets in the dorms, a computer-terminal for surfing the internet (also wifi) and much more. A good opportunity to spend a few nice days on a low-budget in Berlin!

Nice, typical Berlin-style building with a courtyard, we had a double room which are very clean and generally good. Very quiet place though, the common area was pretty much dead. Overall very good though.
This hostel was reasonably clean , friendly and with good kitchen facilities ( supermarket nearby). The small common courtyard area makes it very easy to meet people if you are travelling alone without having to try too hard. Unfortunately this hostel also takes large school groups so you may be unexpectedly subjected to swarms of school kids.
its a pretty cool place. we made reservations for a 4 person room, but they screwed it up some how and put us in our on room for the same price which was nice. great location! really cool area. i would definatly go back
