Cheap, clean and very friendly staff. 25 min walk to the centre, 50 min to the bus/train station. Good tram-connection.
Quality level is around an average UK hostel. The staff, well they couldn't help me enough, they are just super. So patient and very warm and friendly. If no one is on the desk which must happen there is a bell/intercom between the two doors on the left side but in my experience they are totally into ensuring everything is OK for you. For families I found the location great - easy access to the city but not on top of it. I met an Italian doctor and his family as well as other families from across the world here as well as well used by Poles. So pretty international. I only mention the Italian as he'd never met an English person that skies! There is a super cake shop just around the corner, two cakes and a water cost me a quid. So many different cakes and I promise you I don't have a sweet tooth, but it was great to try them all. I found the number 8 tram was the most useful, although several others stop right outside. Note the building does have number 42 on it but in stone it was the number 452 which can be a bit confusing. Food - loads of places in town, but if you want to step out of the hostel into a restaurant, then this isn't the one for you - you will need to walk or take a tram. If you are rich a taxi from here to the market is £4, the tram 60p and walking about 20 mins. For trips like Auschwitz and the Salt mines there are plenty of tour companies who will pick you up from here, but you can do better by going to the coach station and taking a coach! It is really easy to walk to from the castle - two roads one over the bridge over the river and turn right. For those of you who like tips and I guess this is more for the guys. Going north over the river set on the left hand side down a side-street is a place for us guys - you will see the luminescent lights at night - Guliwer is well situated for this one. Just remember in this place to have a card with your contact details on to give out to the girls otherwise they don't know who you are or how to get hold of you. Don't give out too many, they compare notes! Polish girls seem much happier than most other girls I have met, so it will be a real experience for you both! Don't expect a Bangkok experience if fact it is more like a Mayfair experience! Hope that helps
It was a place to stay. That is all. The room was pretty grotty, and don't believe what the website says - it is about twoo miles from the city centre, not 15 mins walk.

It was really nice, tha staff was very kind to us, the center is rather close (4tram stops) and the tram stopped in front of the hotel. Only, we had to change our room (we don't know why), but both of the rooms were okay.
