The BackpackShack is a popular West London hostel in Acton situated a brief walk from Acton Town tube station on the Piccadilly line. Popular with Australian, New Zealand and South African backpackers, the low cost hostel offers free WiFi to all guests.

Rooms consists of standard double bedrooms with shared bathroom and standard twin bedrooms with shared bathroom. Bed linen is included and hot showers are available.
Location and surroundings
The Backpackshack is located in the Acton area which is convenient if travelling from/to Heathrow Airport and from/to Victoria Stations: it takes only 30 minutes by public transportation.
Services and facilities
Guests can use the free kitchen and the free luggage storage. WiFi is also FREE of charge. There is also a free parking (subject to availability). The premises include a traditional English pub where parties, "theme" nights and drink promotions are organized. A pool table can also be used.

Small but clean rooms for modest people. Good equipped kitchen opened from 9:00 (too late for tourists who want to be early in the city). Pub in the ground floor is not disturbing or noisy. There are cheap restaurants around and good connection to public transport (underground, bus).
We had a good time at the BackpackShack and got exactly what we paid for +towels and good conversation in the kitchen. Internet was really fast, good access to bus and tube stations, and the location is fantastic and, in my opinion, exceptional for the price. It was very quiet and there was only some music from the pub on Friday, which did not bother us at all. Thanks for the great stay!
The first night was horrible. The room was downstairs and had a bad smell. There were fungus. The other 5 nights were much better in a room upstairs. The shower was nice and the kitchen complete. Far from centre.
