It feels like grandma's - in the best way. It's really cozy, the staff is great and helpful and the location is excellent! Although the main touristic sights are in Sultan Ahmed (the old town, easily reached by subway/train), Taksim is amazing! It's great to walk around, get lost on the little streets, get into original coffee places, have great turkish food, baths and shopping! And this hostel is great! The rooms are nice, breakfast is simple but very good and the common area is perfect to meet other travellers! I'm certainly coming back! OBS: Wi-Fi only works in the common area and the cleaning could be better!

Staff are very helpful and Hassle Free tours found in the lobby were really helpful and offered great tours of Gallipoli and Troy. The dorm room in which i stayed doesn't have a/c or lockers. There is available at reception a safety box for valuables. Great balcony are upstairs overlooking the port for a relaxing cold beer after a day of sightseeing. Close to lots of little cafes and a couple of markets so cheap food easily obtained. Overall the Hostel was a great place to stay, and definitely coming back again.

Perfect place to stay in Istanbul. I was there more than 5 times and every time was perfect so I am keep comming always the same hostel because I believe Simurg hostel is one of the bests hostels in Istanbul. Friendly staff which is always prepared to help you, perfect atmosphere, very clean rooms - they really take care about it and outstanding location from where you can easily reach all interesting parts of istanbul by foot or by public transport. Also nightlife and fun easy to reach just step away on next street.

Castle Hostel

One of the best hostels I stayed in. The crew is kind and always disponible. The hostel is in the perfect center, 3 minutes walk from grand bazar, blue mosquee, and other attractions. 20 minutes walk (or 5 by tram) from the port. Reception 24h, just ring the bell and they're always there to open the door. The hostel is in a quiet area, so you can sleep at night, but 20 meters from the main street of the "gold corn". Every morning they cook a "continental breakfast" (eggs, meat, vegetables, bread, butter, jam and so on), at any time you can have free turkish tea or coffee. They have free wifi and if you don't have wifi on your device, you can use the laptop in the common room. Perfect stay, ISTANBUL IS WANDERFULLLL!!!
