Mango Tree is a short walk away from the restaurants and bars of Ipanema and Copacabana, including the Garota de Ipanema (Girl From Ipanema) where the famous song was written. The Mango Tree is 1 block from Ipanema Beach, and 80 metres from Posto 9 Lifeguard Tower.

Start each day by enjoying your breakfast outside in a dining area before heading out for a day of sightseeing, adventure sports, or simply lazing around on Ipanema beach, which is only 50 meters away. On returning, why not sit around the garden sipping on capirinhas or fall asleep in a hammock underneath the mango tree. This place just opened. It is safe, quiet, clean and well located. The staff is very fiendly and very helpfull. Great place at affordable prices!
It was a really good hostel. I was just a little desapointed with two members of the staff that were not able to give basic informations for transports.
Very good location, just 2 minutes away from the best part of Ipanema beach, the "Posto 9". The breakfast is really delicious and there is also a nice common area. Very recommended!!
The Mango Tree is located centrally and only 1min walk to Ipanema beach, main square, shops and restaurants. Staff are great, rooms are spotless, facilities are excellent. Would definitely recommend. We did stay in private en suite room so I cannot comment for those staying in dorms.
The Mango Tree is a charming,secure, clean hostel in a perfect location close to the beach and nightlife. The staff is wonderful-very helpful and friendly. I met some great people who were also guests there. Having never stayed in a hostel before I wasn't crazy about the shared bathrooms, but they were ok. The internet is free and accessible on site. The breakfast was very good with lots of fresh fruit, juice, meats and cheeses. Tracy and Caleb hooked us up with a tour of Rio that was fabulous and very reasonable including hang gliding.
