Room types
We have dorms where every bed has a reading light, as well as private rooms with a little fridge and TV. Rates include free linen. There are single and queen-size bunk beds as well as a shower and toilet in most of the rooms. There are also free individual lockers in the rooms; bring your own padlock or buy one at reception for just 3.50 euro. The Flying Pig Downtown provides free use of the guest kitchen, free Wi-Fi, and a lively hostel bar with DJ nights.
Location and surroundings
For the daylight explorers: Cultural spots such as Dam square, the Royal Palace and the Anne Frank house are just around the corner. The outdoor market at Waterlooplein (square) is perfect for bargain shopping and the Rembrandtplein (square) is a great spot to discuss your day with a pint in hand. In the afternoon you can stroll around the Jordaan area. This oldest part of Amsterdam is well known for its tiny houses, canals and cozy restaurants.

We very much enjoyed staying the Flying Pig Downtown, and it was an ideal location to stay for what we wanted to do. The staff were brilliant and very helpful. Hvaing the breakfast was also good, but could of been done with having it earlier.
Coffee Shop Across The Street, Downstairs Is Like Smoking At Grandpa's Pad, Big TV, Amazing Movie Selection, Party Lasts All Night, Kick Ass Music, Easy To Meet People, Free Breakfest, Internet, Pool Table, Women, Drugs, Bar, THE BEST HOSTEL RUNNING IN AMSTERDAM BABY!
I wouldn't recommend staying at the Flying Pig if you're not interested in smoking pot in their opium den like lobby and bar-- even though the location and staff are excellent, you're paying a whole lot of American dollars for a pretty average room and good breakfast.
Great hostel! Really nice staff!!! The bar and lounge are a great place to hang out! Really relaxed atmosphere. Walking distance from every interest point. Very safe!
