CoDE Pod Hostels - THE LoFT is an unique boutique hostel on Rose Street North Lane, in the vibrant and beautiful city centre of Edinburgh. Combining innovative, modern design with the traditional materials and elegance of a red brick period building, the hostel aims to provide the best possible accommodation, atmosphere and experience for discerning guests.
We're talking about a superb boutique hostel in Edinburg's New Town Unesco area. It provides unique design pod-beds with reading light. Guests can mingle with other travellers in the common kitchen and common area and enjoy the amazing breakfast included in the rates.

Our sophisticated ‘pods’ (we’ve gone beyond traditional bunk beds here) and en suite shower rooms are designed with maximum comfort and privacy in mind, whilst our kitchen and communal areas are intelligently laid out to ensure those who stay here can relax and unwind, and, if they choose to do so, meet and mingle with interesting new people, as part of their hostel experience. In total CODE has 6 rooms and 30 beds.
Location and surroundings
CoDE Pod Hostels - THE LoFT is located in the very heart of Edinburgh on the parallel street of Princes Street, Edinburgh's big shopping street with many big clothing stores and shops around. It is surrounded by many pubs and restaurants but still a little bit off the busy Princes Street.

Breakfast is included in every guests price. Our common room is set up with a kitchen and a lounge area with flat screen TV and a big table to have lunch or dinner, meet other travellers or simply surf the internet with our free WiFi throughout the building.

Loved the pod concept..the privacy ensures sleep.Loved the clean cut Modern design and fabulous staff. TWO concerns,Firstly>The automatic door closers make the doors slam...SIGNAGE Not to Slam Dooors May Help...as would a *QUIET PLEAS PEOPLE MAYBE SLEEPING* Sign in the Rooms...we had several loud guests who presumed because the curtains are closed everyone is out.Secondly >TOWEL ONLY Racks are needed in the ROOM 1 per pod...the *in pod* rail is way too small so towels were hung at the windows to dry.
Excellent choice, clean, cosy, very friendly and right in the centre of everything. The pods are incredibly cosy and intimate, and great for a comfortable sleep. Each pod conveniently has a shelf opposite your mattress with a socket for charging your phones and laptops etc. Great location with a plethora of great bars and restaurants right on the doorstep, including a great Wetherspoons next door and the famous Mussell Inn seafood restaurant on the opposite corner. Staff are friendly and efficient and always happy to provide assistance. Liked the nice touch of the kitchen area, and communal fridge for late night or last minute meals and snacks. Would not hesitate to stay again when next in Edinburgh and would recommend to anyone who wants to keep costs under wraps without compromising on comfort, cleanliness or security all of which you have here.
