We are a small, friendly and social hostel that feels more like a family than just a cheap place to stay. We say "There are no strangers here, only friends you haven't met!"

Room types
We have 4 rooms total, with 8 beds in each room. We have two social mixed dorms on the fourth floor, and two quiet mixed dorms on the third floor. The social mixed dorms are for travelers who are here to make friends and socialize. The quiet mixed dorms are for those who want to socialize, but also get a good night’s sleep. Both rooms have locker storage under each bed. The beds in the quiet mixed dorm also have outlets next to their beds.
Location and surroundings
Pacific Tradewinds is in the heart of San Francisco. We’re nestled comfortably between the Financial District and Chinatown, a stone's throw from the iconic Transamerica Tower, and stumbling-home distance from North Beach's vibrant bars. We’re also one block from the famous California cable cars, fifteen minutes away from the Union Square shopping district, and a ten-minute walk from Market Street, where you can catch a train to SFO and almost everywhere else in the city you might want to go.

Once you arrive to our hostel, you'll be greeted in the common area by like-minded travelers. Our common area is filled with board games, lots of laughs, and people from all over the world waiting to meet you! We also have an updated social calendar for every day of the week to encourage our staff and guests to spend time together and enjoy the beautiful city of San Francisco.
