About Hostel de la Baie
We like Hostel de la Baie because it is a rustic and authentic place, where the atmosphere is homey and you can enjoy the welcome warm of Ronald, the very nice property manager. It's a strategic base for visiting the Lower-Normandy, in a natural and unspoiled setting, a short drive from Saint Malo and Mont Saint Michel. And over the weekend have a great fun with live music nights!
If you are lucky enough to travel in the beautiful region of Lower Normandy we recommend staying at the Hostel de la Baie. This small rustic hostel is indeed a haven of tranquility and a great base for visiting the nearby Mont Saint Michel, Saint Malo and the town of Pontorson.

Room types
Do not expect a brand new aseptic hostel with modern furnishings and zero personality. At the Hostel de la Baie guests can enjoy a rustic atmosphere and a warm welcome. The rooms are simply furnished, it's like be at home and you can choose whether to stay in a double room or in a shared dormitory with 6 beds. The bathroom is in any case outside the room, but do not panic, it is a small hostel you never have to queue! ;)
Location and surroundings
At the hostel you can rent a bicycle, the best way to travel in this beautiful country region of Lower Normandy: you can easily get to Pontorson (20 minutes, or 1 hour walk), or Mont Saint Michel. There is also a shuttle service to get around, but remember that it is only available until 18.30, so if you want to stay out until late it's better to use the bike! With a 20-minute walk you can reach 2 bars, a restaurant and there's also a pizza takeaway.
Services and facilities
Hostel guests can cook something in the common kitchen and there's a common area for socializing and a nice garden where you can enjoy a relaxing corner (in summer there's the barbecue!). All weekend we play live music and every musician is welcome to join us.

The hostel still has some things to improve but everything was really good. The rooms are nice and warm, it offers a pick up service to Pontorson and a nice breakfast, the price is really good and the staff is very nice. I would definetly go back.
This hostel was not hostel which I thought in advance, but the owner of this hostel was so kind.I enjoyed staing at this hostel in Pontorson so much. By rental cycle, you can get to Mt.St.Michel!But there are no lights on the road, you have to care not to get lost!
The hostel is located in a very small town, in old farm house. Difficult to find for pleaple not speakinf franch, but on the same time it was funny to look for it:) Only 15 minutes by car to Month St. Micheal. Without car it is difficult to get there. Unfortunatly there isn't any shop nearby, but you can eat good crêpes in the neighbourhood. The redecoration of the hostel is still not finish, but the hospitality of the owner (Roland) recompense it. Ronald has prepared for us very good breakfast and we had nice talk. It is a very friendly place.
I had such a great time staying at this hostel, the host was super friendly and helpful, and made the stay very comfortable and fun, such a great guy and he can play the banjo too! Great brakfast and you can hire a bike too. Definatly reccommend this hostel if you are looking for something real, it is an old farm house so lots of character, not your average chain hostel.
Really friendly owner, tries very hard to make sure your stay is a good one. Very helpful for local information and a very relaxed hostel.
