L'Hotel Universal està situat a l'elegant avinguda dos Aliats, al cor del centre històric d'Oporto, envoltat per algunes de les joies de l'arquitectura més esplèndida de la ciutat, com ara l'Ajuntament, l'estació de tren de S. Bento i la torre de Clerigos. Gràcies a la seva ubicació privilegiada, l'hotel ofereix un fàcil accés a totes les parts de la ciutat, a peu, en autobús o en metro. L'estació de tren és a 2 minuts a peu i l'aeroport a 20/30 minuts amb transport públic.
