Norway have a rich history of Viking explorers, battles, courageous fishermen living in the most remote places along the magnificant coastline to the Atlantic ocean... The most famous Norwegians are Edvard Grieg the composer, Edvard Munch the artist and Henrik Ibsen the playright all three living in the 19th century. The oil found in 1960´s was a dramatical change for the struggling Norway and made them one of the wealthiest contries in the world and now the second largest oil exporter after Saudi Arabia.
In the West of Norway you will find The Fjords and Mountains, a breathtaking scenery, easily accesible, where you can do hiking, glacier walking, fishing och cykling. And ofcourse Skiing!
Or green Flåm near Sognefjord with the famous train ”Flåmsbana” that will take you around the area.
If you want city life, the capital Oslo has a lot to offer.
Oslo is clean, friendly, with typical Scandivian architecture, the city is built on hills and even in the center you will mostly find adorable villas made of wood. Even the more modern buildings in Olso is made of wood, showing the strong appeal the material have on the Norwegians.
There is also a Trendy Alternative side of Oslo, found in the neigborhood Grünerløkka favoured by the young people, and known for art, cool shopping, cafés and bars. Stay at Anker Hotel or Hostel nearby Grünerløkka.
