Are you curious to know where Lara Croft movie was shot?

Lara Croft has been a point of reference for many travellers for her independent attitude and her problem-solving skills during her adventures. She's also super cool and super hot, which doesn't hurt either :)

The shooting locations of Tomb Raider are just incredible and we would love to pencil them in a potential travel itinerary. For this reason, we've put together a list of the top filming destinations where Angelina Jolie and her fellow actors filmed the famous adventure movie.

1. London

Lara Croft's home, where she trains in the very first movie scenes, is, actually, a London villa situated in North London, and called Hatfield House. It's typical British style and wonderful gardens are just incredible to see.

You might have noticed that this is the same filming location already used for some scenes of Tim Burton's Batman.

Other London's location included in the movie are the Tower Bridge and the Leadenhall Market, where Lara, on her motorbike, drives among the cars, shortly after having discovered the mysterious clock, All-Seeing Eye.

2. Venice

The 2nd movie scene is filmed in Venice, with an overview of the city all the way to the Salute Basilica, one of Venice's most beautiful churches (you might also want to check out this article about where to eat and sleep low cost in Venice). However, the filming inside the church didn't take place in Venice but at the Old Royal Naval College, in Greenwich, London.

3. Cambodia

The central part of Tomb Raider takes place in the temple complex of Angkor Thom, in Siem Riep, Cambodia.

Lara meets a mysterious girl right in the Temple of Ta Prohm. In the movie, the temple of Angkor Wat, appears on the river bank while in real life it isn't quite like in the same location.

Cambodia

Cambodia is a fascinating country, rich in history and culture, with its roots way back in the centuries.

Just to arouse your curiosity, did you know that Cambodia is one of the countries included in the Banana Pancake Trail?

Are you wondering what the Banana Pancake Trail is? Learn more about it in this article ..... a potential destination for your next trip, who knows?
