The fateful moment has arrived yet again, when our friends start to pester us with the same old question: "What are you doing for New Year's Eve?". If you're still saying 'I'm not sure' then don't panic, you're still in time to end the year in the best way possible - by going on an amazing trip! We can all agree that there is no better way to celebrate the arrival of 2019 than travelling around the world. The only problem is that travelling at New Year's, as you probably know, is not very cheap.

VENICE, ITALY

BARCELONA, SPAIN

Another location we can all agree on is Barcelona, known for it's amazing NYE parties. You can also make some amazing savings if you're quick and book at one of these properties: if you're willing to stay a little way out of the city and travel in by car then we recommend Hostel Estrella di Calella, which has a rating of 9.0 and prices from 19€ per night. BERLIN, GERMANY

Berlin is the world capital of Techno and offers an unbeatable underground scene, so you can be sure that you will find a ton of opportunites to have fun during NYE. Berlin also doesn't dissapoint when it comes to booking low-cost at New Year's Eve. Your cheapest option is the Metropol Hostel, an excellent hostel in the lively Kreuzberg area: there are still beds available for 27€ a night. LISBON, PORTUGAL

You can enjoy a year-round mild climate in Lisbon (as if rarely goes below 10°, even at NYE), along with its incredible history and culture, and many bars and clubs for every kind of party: from the traditional Fado to many modern and lively clubs (especially in the Cais do Sodre o the Bairro Alto areas). There is a wide range of accomodation to choose from, and the prices are very cheap. Some examples: Hostel Seven Hills has dorm rooms from 12€ - unbeatable! Another place to check out is the Hans Brinker Hostel, where prices start from 15€ and which has an average rating of 8.8! SAINT PETERSBURG, RUSSIA

Changing the scene completely, where temperatures do drop (a long way below zero!), but where prices drop too! St. Petersburgh is the most European of all the Russian cities and during the holidays it really is beautiful thanks to its incredible display of lights. But the best thing about the city are the prices of hostels, as many have prices for under 10€ a night, even at NYE! Aqua Hostel, Milleron Hostel and Ula Hostel are some of the cheapest options (from 5€!), but even if you choose some of the most famous hostels you will still spend little: Cubahostel (with an average rating of 9.6 and in a super central position), has beds for 12€ a night! > LOOK FOR THE BEST OFFERS

MILAN, ITALY

ISTANBUL, TURKEY

How does a NYE on the banks of the Bosporus sound? To us, it sounds perfect, and you can enjoy a midnight pyrotechnic display while you're there! We can also assure you that Istanbul is a city that will let you party all night long. Once you have enjoyed the fireworks you'll find that the party moves to the streets: Taksim Square is where the nightlife can be found, as well as in the Nisantasi and Kadikoy areas. STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN

You can expect to have a chilly NYE in Stockholm, but one that will certainly be romantic. We suggest partying in the Södermalm area, a place popular amongst young people which is full of great places to drink, or you can head to the old town area of Gamla Stan. Another two super lively locations are Fjällgatan (the best place to experience the Swedish nightlife) and the Västerbron bridge, a meeting point for the hipster crowd. Avoid eating in restaurants because the cost of a standard dinner can be quite expensive. RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL

We included Rio de Janeiro in our article on the Top 10 destinations to have a street party for NYE. Why? Well, you just have to think of the Copacabana beach that hosts the biggest Npartyart in the world! Over 2,000,000 people dance and celebrate until dawn on the 4.5km of sandy beach. What could be better? But where to stay? If you want to save money the head towards the Village Potira hostel, where there are some excellent dorms and some private rooms at good prices. KRAKOW, POLAND

We are ending this article with a place that might not immediately spring to mind when you think about NYE destinations, but we can assure you that it won't disappoint! Krakow has an incredible nightlife scene (check out our article on the topic!) and we recommend heading to the Kazimierz area to celebrate the New Year - it's an old Jewish quarter which has now become a cultural hub full of amazing bars, giving the place an alternative and lively atmosphere which you are sure to love.
