A Midnight kiss? If New Year in Venice is not romantic enough, where else then?

To celebrate New Year in Venice is not a plan to underestimate, not only because it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but also because you can still manage to find hostels where to sleep without breaking the bank, and last but not least, the several events organized for such an occasion.

Throughout the year Venice surprises by showing off all its beauty, but at night its lighted up by the firework show taking place in St. Mark’s Basin and cheered up by live music in the several campi scattered all over the island.



THE MIDNIGHT KISS

What’s the best way to welcome New Year if not with a kiss? People meet in St. Mark’s Square to have a toast and give a romantic kiss to each other’s sweetheart.
It’s wish for peace and for love, with thousands of people simultaneously kissing each other in St. Mark’s Square. You could also be part of all of this, why not?

HOW TO CELEBRATE NEW YEAR IN VENICE

If you are into dancing the night away until you drop, don’t you worry, you will find a club, either you will have to put it up with Piccolo Mondo or you will have to move to the mainland, to Mestre or Jesolo.

Fireworks Show in St. Mark's Basin

As already mentioned, a firework show will be taking place in St. Marks’ Square, which, alone, makes New Year in Venice, a memorable one, considered the surrounding scenario!

If you are more into traditions, though, on the 1st of January, Teatro La Fenice will house the New Year's Concert while Teatro Goldoni, on the 31st of December, will put together a show entirely dedicated to Ennio Marchetto.

When it comes to having New Year dinner in a restaurant, it’s best to book a table in advance; menus are set, it is now just a matter to fill out the tables!
