Lowcost weekends in Paris: Hostels, Clubs and Museum

02/15/2012

Good news for budget voyagers, 'Paris’ could be your next destination!

Paris is definitely a must-see destination and let's admit it: Paris is just fabulous, no doubts!

If you desire to visit the “city of lights and romance”, but you're worried because its many attractions may leave your wallet feeling lighter, it's a good idea to start your trip by booking your Paris accommodation. There are so many options suitable for all travellers, from the very inexpensive Paris Friends Hostel to the cool Paris Vintage hostel, without forgetting the most international between the international hostels of Paris, the Auberge Internationale des Jeunes.

Now that you saved money for your accommodation, you can focus on spending your money elsewhere!

Of course you can't visit Paris without stopping off at its symbol: the Eiffel Tower; the views from its three platforms literally put Paris at your feet. Don’t be put off by long queues for the elevators, you can always take the stairs! If you prefer to put your energy walking through the streets and the alleys of this Paris, you will soon discover the magnetic attraction of this city.

Art lovers, don't go crazy with all the museums you can visit in Paris: the Musee d'Orsay for those who love the Impressionists, the Centre Pompidou for avant-garde, the Louvre ... for anyone who loves art! For those looking for something more alternative we suggest a visit to the Fondation Cartier and the Palais Tokyo, where there are regularly organized exhibitions devoted to the best of contemporary artists. If you do not like contemporary then near the Champs Elysees, you should visit the Petit Palais (free admission) at the Grand Palais, where you can enjoy superb shows.

In Paris the nights are even more alive and richly coloured than the day!!

If you're looking for good places to listen to live music or dancing, we suggest the Nouveau Casino (Metro Parmentier, ideal for rock and electronic), the Glazart (Metro Porte de la Villette, clubbing trend) and Point Ephémère (Metro Louis Blanc / Jaurès, a cultural centre with a bar and restaurant that offers regular exhibitions and avant-garde music on the banks of the Canal St. Martin).

To get a complete view of what the city has to offer, it can be a good idea to buy a copy of Pariscope, available at any news-stand. This is a weekly magazine where you will find all the latest information about exhibitions, events, festivals, film programs and you can also find the addresses of restaurants and recommended bars.

Paris je t'aime!
