Ireland is the emerald paradise

08/09/2013

Ireland is an emerald paradise, full of various flora upon rolling hills, and endless scenic coasts – from brilliant beaches and sandy coves to wicked and powerful looking cliffs. The air is fresh, the colors are entrancing, the scenery is immaculate, the people are brilliant and oh so nice, and the pubs are always full of chatter, as well as black and brown tonics. The beauty and the history of any day trip and drive, or hike is rivaled by few anywhere else in the world. Whether you’re looking for photographic landscapes, historic wonders, time to get in touch with nature, or a nice time with the locals, Ireland may be the perfect destination for you...

I should know – I’m currently in Ireland right now, for my second time. The first time I left, I felt for the following year, that I had left my heart there. I felt immediately at home once I left Dublin and roamed the countryside and met with the local fishermen, farmers and sheep-herders. I couldn’t wait to return, and I can now say that the magic of Ireland never diminishes – I’m just as amazed and touched by the feeling of being in Ireland, as I was the first time around. I love the scenery – as you can tell by my various photographs that I publish here and there – and I love the people. Before visiting Ireland the first time, I heard over and over about how inviting the inhabitants were. And after months of being in Ireland total, I can back that claim up – because I’ve met wonderful and intriguing people everywhere. They might not lead the most exciting lifestyles, overall, but the simpleness of how the people of Ireland (as a whole) look at life and the simple appreciation of all other beings on this earth is truly inspiring. I’ve been inspired to slow my own lifestyle down, finding that the tiny things are most important and should be appreciated – and that some everyday issues aren’t worth fretting over.

The point of my rambles is to open your eyes about Ireland, that it’s not all about shamrocks, heavy drinking fests or leprechauns – Ireland is so much more than the old superstitions and silly stereotypes. If you get the chance, stop on over to Ireland – I suggest getting out of the big cities as soon as you can; rent a car and just go. Driving around the country, experiencing all of the off-the-beaten path villages and scenic areas is the best thing you can do. Travel slow, at random and unplanned is best – for traveling alone, without distraction, open and influenceable by the ancient powers within the island of Ireland, you will notice yourself changing, with the understanding of who you really are, and what’s really important in life (as was the power and the change I experienced during my first visit).

And if you do decide to take my advice... Do understand that Ireland is a bit of a pricy place and most of the areas around Ireland do not offer cheap accommodation – you can find some nice B&B’s, but you may pay a hefty price for them, more often than not. So, my suggestion is to have a base in a larger city for most nights, then venture out from dawn until dusk.
