You still don't know where to celebrate New Year's Eve? Here are some ideas for you
We all celebrate New Year's Eve, don't we? Perhaps we organize ourselves at the last minute - but in the end we always find something to do, whether it is at home, at somebody else's house or even in another country.
Wouldn't it be nice to celebrate the arrival of the new year while visiting a European capital? Or treat yourself with a few days off in the States or in South America? ..and while you're dreaming with open eyes - unless you already have your suitcase packed and a plane ticket stuck in the middle of your passport - here are the cities where you should celebrate New Year's Eve at least once in your life!
CAIRNS
We start from Australia, Cairns, for a New Year's which is completely different from what we are used to here: with the heat! The New Year's celebration is done on the beach, at the Cairns Esplanade, where you party, drink, eat and dance until you finally watch the fireworks at the stroke of midnight.
LOS ANGELES
As big as this city is it would be weird if we didn't have a lot to offer here. In fact, in Los Angeles there are many free parties to go to, for example the Grand Parkoppure at Hermosa Beach.
LISBON
In Lisbon, there is a great New Year's party at Praça do Comércio, the building which surrounds one of the most beautiful squares of the city will be filled with colors, thanks to the fireworks which are being shot from the rooftops to the rhythm of the music.
LONDON
So, who's never been to London for New Year's? For warming yourself up at these cold temperatures, you can sing and drink while watching the Thames illuminate the whole city.
RIO DE JANEIRO
Another city where the new year is celebrated in a swimsuit is Rio de Janeiro. In fact, the real party place is right at the beach - again, with the classic fireworks and live music. Let's bet that after having seen all this you will return home with a feeling of the typical Brazilian Saudade?
MADRID
Go to "Puerta del Sol" with "The twelve grapes of luck", and be ready to eat one of them every time you hear the sound of the tool starting from midnight! This is just one of the several New Year's Eve traditions in Spain. In addition, Spanish people are also great at organizing parties!
EDINBURGH
In Edinburgh, there is a tradition of wandering the streets with lit candles - as well as a dip in the icy waters of the Forth River (for who has the courage), a sledge dog race in the Holyrood Park, which is called Dogmanay, not to mention the live concerts and art shows around the city.
FLORENCE
Each square is filled with a spectacle like live music, street artists etc. - the whole city becomes a huge free party. People come out and mix with other people, toasting and laughing while waiting for the fireworks to announce the new year.
BANGKOK
Live concerts, light spectacles and milions of people who are all wandering on the streets for welcoming the new year. Bangkok is a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year, but don't you want to do it already for New Year's?
