5 reasons for couples to choose a hostel

04/10/2015

It's time to finally break the myth that hostels are perfect accommodations just for solo travellers or for people who travel with friends.

We are living beyond the convinction that a couple should book a hotel when planning a trip, excluding that a hostel could still be a great solution, and on the top of it, a good way to save some money. We can see you frowing since here, but we are convinced that as soon as you have read these 5 reasons to choose hostels even if your a couple, you will start, at least, to consider this idea as a possible alternative.

1. PRIVATE ROOMS DO EXIST

Hostels

If the main problem for a couple is the fear of sharing a room with other people and giving up their own privacy (at least during the night), the drama will be solved in a sec: private rooms do exist and they are often very cool. By the way, bringing an all-night mask and a pair of earplugs with you is always a good idea. Just a little piece of advice: try rather not to make too much of noise!

2. YOU DON'T REALLY NEED TO SHARE THE BATHROOM

Not all of us are willing to share a bathroom with someone you just met a couple of minutes ago at the bar, or waiting in line for your turn to have a shower or going back and forth with your beauty case under your arm with the risk of loosing your toothbrush somewhere around. For all these reasons private bathrooms do exist. Yes, you understood well, private bathrooms are in hostels too, you just need to select the right option on the search box you find on the homepage of HostelsClub.

3. YOU CAN MEET NEW PEOPLE

Traveling as a couple

Much more than in a hotel, when choosing a hostel you will have the opportunity to meet new people. Making new friends and meeting possibly other travel couples as well will give an international touch to your life and, why not, you might want to join their journey or share yours with them.

4. AN ALTERNATIVE TO A EVENING WITH YOUR PARTNER

When you travel with your partner, having romantic dinners is part of the game, but what if after a while you two want to spend a night joining a party? Hostels could be a a great solution, since this kind of accommodation usually organizes amazing parties, which involves all guests and you don't need to worry about how to come back home after a certain time; probably you just need to climb a few stairs!

5. IT'S A WAY TO REDUCE TRAVEL COSTS

Keep calm and love hostel life

Traveling as a couple reduces lots of expenses for sure, but if it's possible to avoid to pay a room a hundred bucks per night, using that money for other things, such as visiting that museum you decided not to see because it was “out of budget” or whatever else experience.
The chance of using a common kitchen can be a way to save some money, since you don't have to go out for a dinner every night and on the top of it, eating with other people doesn't sound bad at all!

MORE ADVICES TO CONCLUDE

To give you a concrete example what we are talking about, here you have a couple of ideas, such as Wine Hostel in Porto, a beautiful and thematic hostel with private rooms which recall the typical Portuguese colors, or the Fabrika Hostel in Warsaw, with its clean design rooms. In the end, summer is coming and a seaside destination could be a valid option; Mar del Plata Hostel in Mallorca reopened recently and some of its rooms have a terrace.
