LOVRAN, CROATIA - HOSTEL LINK

If you ask the staff at their hostel they will tell you Hostel Link is like "login into your perfect holiday". This hostel is a brand new boutique hostel housed in a fully reburbished building overlooking the Kvarner Bay. Private or shared rooms are really colorful and some have a sea view. Guests are provided with any typical hostel facilities: terrace bar, common room, lockers and a free Wi-Fi. Lovran is a little gem and very convenient for visits to Opatija and Rijeka.

SARAJEVO, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA - HOSTEL FRANZ FERDINAND

The concept behind Hostel Franz Ferdinand is like opening a history book. Each themed room will take you deep into the events around the assassination of Prince Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie; you can go from the Franz Ferdinand Room, and Sophie Chotek Room to the Young Bosnia Room or the Gavrilo Princip Room. All rooms have a free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. The location is very convenient: close to the pedestrian area and only few minutes walk to Baščaršija.

MOSTAR, BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA - HOSTEL DAVID

The little courtyard with a garden and a sitting area is like a heaven of peace and the atmosphere at Hostel David is very cosy. It has only 18 beds, with quiet ensuite rooms (2/4/6 beds) and it's therefore ideal for individual travelers and small groups. Wi-fi and air conditioning are available in all rooms. It's very easy to reach it from Mostar bus/train station and it has a 24/7 reception service. The old town and Mostar bridge are only a 10-minute walk away.


UZICE, SERBIA - ECO HOSTEL REPUBLIK

A trip through Western Serbia must include a stop to Uzice and while there, Eco Hostel Republik is the most ideal accommodation option. The hostel theme is Resistance during World War II. Upon check-in you will be pampered with a welcome drink, as well as free coffee and tea, free linen and soap. There are plenty of common areas ideal to catch up with other travelers. Almost all furniture are DIY by using euro-pallets which makes this hostel extremely eco-friendly.

BELGRADE, SERBIA - CHILLTON AND CHILLTON 2

You find it in Belgrade's district of Vracar and you will be welcomed with a free glass of Šljivovica. It's a good "old school" hostel that provides typical backpacker facilities: fully equipped common kitchen (with free spices), spacious lounge area with free wi-fi access and TV, lockers and luggage storage. Don't miss their outdoor terrace on a sunny day. Chillton has been accommodating backpackers since 2006 and knows its stuff. They also have a sister hostel Chillton 2, located between the Belgrade fortress and Republic Square.

LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA - HOSTEL TRESOR

What used to be a bank is now one of the most unusual hostels in the accommodation industry; every room is named after a currency and you can book privates or individual beds in spacious dorm style rooms. The hostel staff - aka the Tresorians - are available 24/7. It's located in Ljubljana city centre, between Prešeren Square and the Three Bridges. Last but not least, Tresor Hostel could not but accept Bitcoin, a virtual currency for online payments.

PRISTINA, KOSOVO - THE WHITE TREE
