Location and surroundings
Holbox Island, a former fishing village, is a small portion of Mexican paradise where time has forgotten his name and merges with the infinite. It is the perfect holiday destination for nature lovers and rest, because of its lush beauty paradise, pearl white beaches, its rich diversity of flora and fauna and the friendliness of its people.
Holbox Island is part of the biosphere reserve and protected area of Yum Balam wildlife. Within the island, all white sand streets and no pavement.
Services and facilities
In Holbox you can hire various tours, the most notable being the 'swim with whale sharks', to be a unique experience in the world which is a boat ride in which visitors can swim or snorkel with whale sharks, that are visiting the island each year from the end of May until early September.
There is also the 'Running of the 3 islands', which will visit the water hole called Yalahau, which was an ancient Maya site whose waters are said to be medicinal, and also 2 islets.
