The Yard Hostel is a hostel in the center of Catania and a magical place, where you can live an informal atmosphere of tranquility and meet other interesting people. The staff like to think that they do not manage one of the many hostels, but a "metropolitan oasis", two steps away from the main historical, cultural and commercial attractions of Catania.
The Yard Hostel is a hostel in the center of Catania (a few steps away from the famous Via Etnea) born from the passion for their city of three young boys who have decided to create a 'metropolitan oasis' for backpackers and travelers looking for cheap accommodation, fun and reliable.

Room types
At The Yard Hostel you can choose to stay in a shared dormitories, or in a comfortable private rooms.
Bed linen is included and all accommodations have air conditioning. There are 4 dormitories: 3 mixed for 4, 6 or 8 people and one for only female guests with 6 beds. The dorms have "French" bunk beds and a shared bathroom. Last but not least there's a private double room.
Location and surroundings
The Yard hostel is located at n. 11 of Viale XX Settembre, a very important street in Catania that crosses the famous Via Etnea. Piazza Duomo, Villa Bellini, Via Umberto and the Botanical Gardens are in the immediate vicinity and the bus and "Alibus" (leading to the airport) stops are also a few meters from the hostel. In the area there are many restaurants, supermarkets and shops, ask the staff to get some advice on the best places to visit.
Services and facilities
Guests can count on a daily rich Italian buffet breakfast from 7.15 to 10 and a Wi-Fi Internet connection for free. Among the common areas there is a TV room, a game room with table tennis, a book-crossing point, a beautiful terrace with a garden and BBQ. And there is also a kitchen equipped to prepare a meal with friends. Among the paid services we mention the bike rental and the possibility to book excursions in Catania and surroundings (do not miss those on Etna!).

This is my eighth year of constant travel and this hostel has really impressed me. The dorm rooms are very large and only have a limited number of beds in them. The mattresses are large and comfortable. There are curtains, lights and outlets for each bed. The lockers are large enough for my backpack and computer bag. The hostel is located just meters away from the main avenue of the city. I would definitely stay here again if the occasion arose. The owners were so helpful in helping me plan the rest of my stay in Sicily
