About The Tropics Hotel and Hostel
We are one of the longest established hostels in Miami, current management is in place since 1992. With all our experience, a perfect location and dedicated energetic staff we are the best place for anyone who rather spends a little less money on the accommodation and needs a central comfortable and clean place to start discovering what South Florida and Miami is about.
The Tropics Hotel and Hostel is a South Beach youth hostel within walking distance to the Art-Deco district. Guests can provide private rooms and shared rooms. The main feature is the outdoor swimming pool.

Room types
We have private rooms and shared rooms. All guests in our shared rooms need a valid passport to ensure they are used by travelers that are familiar with the sharing concept and comfortable to sleep in bunk beds. We welcome travelers from any country. Since you don't share facilities in our private rooms, we do not have such strict restrictions for those. Private Rooms are for 1-2, 3 or 4 guests and have also an in-room safe, tv and we prepare towels and the bedding for you. All rooms have a/c.
Location and surroundings
Our hostel is located in the center of South Beach, which is THE place to stay in Miami. It is just a few steps to the wide sandy beach, you are staying within the world-famous Art-Deco District, and Lincoln Road with all the shopping and restaurants is just around the corner. Public transportation is easily accessible, the Express Bus 150 from and to the airport stops just on Lincoln Road.
Services and facilities
One of the best features of our hostel is the huge outdoor swimming pool. We also offer a common kitchen with cooking facilities and a coin operated laundry room. We do not offer breakfast, but there are all those inexpensive bakeries around and our guests can use our common kitchen to prepare their own food. We also arrange local sightseeing tours at our front desk.

Location is very good but what I didn't like was the noises made by the guests caming back late on night
Very nice place, clean and confortable, just a few steps from beach in a great position in South Beach.
very convenient locations, but it is quite noisy during the night. However, the rooms, staff are OK.
The Hostel is a nice place to stay, centered near nice beaches and the most famous parts of Miami Beach! The pool is a nice extra! The atmosphere is quiet and you can be by yourself! The cleanliness is amazing and everything makes an uplifted impression!
I was very surprised, in a positive way, with Tropics. My room was perfectly clean everyday. Hoovered, beds were done, towels changed...just perfect!!!! People from the reception were amazing. Super friendly and always helpful. As for fun, it was way too much fun. I've met and done many friends over there. People i am in contact with now that i've come back home. For instance, we organized a xmas diner, we went on tours together, shopping, clubbing... I've done all that with the rest of the guests that i've met the first days i arrived at Tropics. The more people arrived, the more friends we'd make. All was amazing and i strongly recommend Tropics hotel. I am surely coming back!!! Teresa
