Room types
The Quintal de Além do Ribeiro has five double rooms and four suites. The rooms are decorated according to themes, evoking traditional activities of the Beira region, such as the dressmaker, carpenter, musician, blacksmith, shoemaker and hunter. The Romantic room, in the main house, is the noblest of them all. The others have a more rustic decor.The Hiding Place room evokes past times when the local population had to resort to hiding its possessions as well as themselves from the French invader.
Location and surroundings
In Serra da Lousã, visiting the Castle of Arouce and the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade (Our Lady of Piety) is a must. Enjoy the amazing natural scenery from the many viewpoints and visit the Chapel of Santo António da Neve, close to the snow wells where, in past times, the snow was stored to make the ice used in the court, in Lisbon. On the way down, visit the traditional schist villages, an amazing testimony of the region’s rural architecture.
